Book ideas

So, throughout the years, I’ve had so many ideas for books or stories—not specifically books, but stories that I would like to tell. As I said, I have these seasonal obsessions, and you can check the other part of the website for that, where I just document the things I get obsessed about every couple of weeks or so. All of those things kind of merge inside my head in a way that gives me ideas for books, or stories, or movies. I don’t know, it’s not like I have a definite path of, “Oh, I want this to be a movie or a book.” No, it’s just that I have this idea for a story that I would like to tell, and those stories manifest themselves in different ways.

There is this one story from Isaac Asimov that I absolutely love and keep coming back to every now and then, which is called *The Last Question*. I think it’s a story that everyone has to read at least once. It’s about humanity inventing an artificial intelligence—a superhuman robot intelligence, or whatever—that answers questions. There’s just one question that it can never answer, which is how to revert entropy, or something like that. I love that story so much; it’s so great, you have to read it.

It always gave me this feeling that I would want to write a story that is maybe a thousand years from now, or two thousand years from now. People—humans that migrated to another planet, or another galaxy, or anything like that—are researching the Earth. They are so far different from us that they’re like, “Oh my god, it’s so fun to read about these teenagers in the 2020s, how they were doing TikToks, and they were falling in love, and doing this and that.” They are so far apart from us. They’re still humans, and they still have the biological characteristics, but their culture and their society are so way different from ours. They get so excited reading about the simple shit that we do right now.

I always thought that was a great story to tell, but I know there are so many stories similar to that, or whatever. Now, I’m working on another one, and this one actually excites me a lot. I don’t want to talk too much about it because I’m gonna be posting about that in a bit. It’s just a *Black Mirror* type of story about an AI world, taking place in a future that seems almost too close to be comfortable. It feels a little bit uncanny, but I do believe that it’s going to be great. That’s just something that I had on my mind right now.
